Common Idioms (I)
An idiom is a phrase or expression whose meaning cannot be understood from the literal meanings of its individual words. Instead, it has a figurative meaning that is culturally understood by native speakers. "In hot water" is an example of an idiom beginning with I.- In hot water means being in trouble or facing difficult consequences.
